But there are a few things you should know before you do, too. If there is a health issue or problem with the cat that was diagnosed, you want to see it gone as quickly as possible. Our vet and staff can help in those situations and will work with you to achieve this.

It is important that you know the difference between different types of vets so that you will get the right advice for your pet. For more information on vet services, talk to your local vet.

I have done all that but they still won't eat. What can I do to get them to eat? Your vet will need to try different diets and even supplements, depending on the severity of the problem, and the cat's condition. The more severe the problem, the more work is needed, and the more time it will take.

If the cat is not eating at all and appears ill, they will need to be seen by a vet to start the work of eliminating any underlying problems. But the earlier they can be seen, the less work will be needed. Once you have this information you can work with your vet.

I have fed dry, canned and canned wet diets with no success.

I am still unsure whether it is a digestive or other problem. Please see our guide to finding a vet. Do not be tempted to think that the food is making the problem worse. Your cat can only eat if their stomach is working properly.

The first step is to get this cleared up. Your vet will test the cat to make sure that the underlying problem is not a more serious one, and may give a medication to make the cat's stomach work better. Your vet may even be able to use other methods. It is important that you do not stop any treatments until your cat has been fully seen.

As far as I know, the problem is not related to age. My mom has a three year old kitten and she also has the same problem and a very high fever one time.

Is it possible that the kitten is pregnant? My daughter's mother (my roommate) has recently experienced the same problem when she had her second litter, and it took several weeks before it was sorted out. Her second kitten had had a tumour.

If you are unsure about the problem, do the tests to find out. If the kitten is having a problem, it will be difficult to sort out. I do not think it is possible to sort out until the kitten has been seen by a vet. Do not give up on the kitten without trying to sort out the underlying problem first.

What was the outcome?

My cat became anemic after being sick for 2 weeks.

How serious was the problem?

I was worried for my cat, as she had lost 2cm off her tl during this time, and was losing a lot of weight. I felt that she was not eating well, and was drinking less. She was also unable to move for the last week of this illness. I brought her to the vet on a Saturday morning when I noticed her losing a lot of weight. We found out that she had lost 3cm of her tl and needed to be put on iron supplements and antibiotics for a week or so. She had to be kept on special food for the first week to help her body get used to the iron supplements.

I felt really guilty about this problem, as it seemed like a very serious and rare problem, that I had never seen before.

What did you do?

My friend felt the same way, and she was really worried about what had happened. We thought that this might have been the last summer that I had her. We decided to have her spayed at our local vet hospital, and it was a really good decision, as we got another female cat (a 6 week old, neutered kitten) in the deal.

The Vet sd that I should monitor her for problems from this illness in the future, but I was confident that I had done the right thing.

Did you use an iron supplement?

Yes, I did, but I gave it to her in her food. It was a soft tablet form, and it had to be dissolved in water before it could be fed. She did well on the iron supplement, and she was a better cat for it after the illness.

How serious was this problem?

I was a little worried that this might be something that would happen agn. I took her back to the vet a couple of days later, and she was just fine.

What could you do to prevent this in the future?

The vet told me to make sure she gets her food regularly, and to change the food and change her water every day. She also sd that this kind of problem could come back. I would have to keep checking to make sure she wasn't sick, and I would want to find out about the cause and how to prevent it from happening agn.

Was there anything about your pet's behavior or physical appearance that seemed to indicate that she might be in pn?

She was sleeping more than usual, and she seemed off-color. But I don't remember thinking about pn until I went to the vet's office a couple of days later.

Would you change anything about your treatment or care of your pet?

What suggestions do you have to help pet owners who might have this problem?

I would want to know if your pet has been fed properly. If you aren't sure about how to feed your pet, you should ask your vet about what kind of food is best for your pet.

Do you have other suggestions?

Yes. Have your pet's vaccinations updated before you bring her to the vet. Also, make sure she is eating the food you buy, not treats or other non-foods. This is especially important if your pet has other health problems.
